The name “Blue Suede Shoes” refers not only to blue suede footwear but also to a legendary piece of music history. The eponymous rock'n'roll song by Carl Perkins was released in 1956 and is among the most popular singles. That same year, the King himself, Elvis Presley, recorded a slightly faster cover. Although it wasn’t planned as a single, it charted and made the song famous worldwide. With a lot of humor, the song’s lyrics talk about someone who loves his blue suede shoes, as in the lyrics he asks among other things: "Do what you want, knock me down, burn my house, steal my car … but just don't step on my blue suede shoes." With so much dynamic inspiration, a powerful fragrance had to be created. The creative director Herbert Stricker’s concept was realized by perfumers Blanca Dalmau and Christian Carbonnel.
From the outset, BLUE SUEDE SHOES reveals a fresh, herbal and spicy blend. Sharp bergamot and aromatic lavender are finely accentuated by anise and pepper. The heart notes radiate a woody and rather dry undertone. Cedarwood contributes decisively, while tamed patchouli, refined amber and creamy sandalwood also support this facet. A soft base supports the fresh, woody scent with harmoniously fused components such as vetiver, tonka bean and labdanum. The elegant steel-blue bottle reinforces the impression that BLUE SUEDE SHOES is an expressive citrus fragrance appreciated by both men and women.
