NICOLAÏ, an independent perfumery house
Discover the story of this family of perfumers, passionate and committed, who have won over lovers of fine compositions with unique fragrances, created with passion and exacting standards, using an artisanal and ethical approach

    • The story of an independent perfume house

In 1989, Patricia de Nicolaï and her husband Jean-Louis Michau founded NICOLAÏ with a bold bet for the time: to create, sign, and sell their own perfumes. They chose to make only the highest quality fragrances and to create with complete freedom, far from marketing diktats, while maintaining an elegant and distinguished style.

The philosophy of the Nicolaï house

From the very beginning, the philosophy of the Nicolaï house was to make only the highest quality fragrances and to create with complete freedom. This high standard won over an audience eager for beautiful compositions. Today, Nicolaï Parfumeur-Créateur stands among the jewels of independent French perfumery, exported all over the world.

The importance of heritage and passion

The Guerlain family had a major influence on the philosophy of the Nicolaï house. Patricia de Nicolaï is a direct descendant of Pierre Guerlain, who propelled the company to major success in the first half of the 20th century.

Today, Patricia is supported in her creative work by her son Axel de Nicolaï, also the brand's general manager in charge of development. At Nicolaï, it is all about passion and heritage.
