  • Eugène Chevreul and the perception of color

Couleurs by Le Nez Insurgé is much more than a simple perfume collection. It's an innovative approach that aims to represent each color with a distinctive scent. With five colors and five fragrances, this revolutionary line awakens the senses in a way you've never imagined before

An olfactory exploration of chromatic nuances

It was through everyday experiences in the Le Nez Insurgé shop and during olfactory workshops that Dorothée Duret made a fascinating discovery: our sense of smell involves synesthesia, a neurological phenomenon in which multiple senses become durably linked. Over the course of the "olfactory awakening" workshops, it became clear that most of us can describe smells using colors.

    A new sensory approach

The inspiration behind this olfactory venture goes back to the 19th century, to the work of Eugène Chevreul, a chemist whose research revolutionized our understanding of color perception. His discoveries influenced renowned artists and craftsmen, such as those of the Art & Craft movement founded by William Morris and John Ruskin. This philosophy, which puts craftsmanship at the heart of art, finds unexpected echoes in the world of perfumery.
