"The initial inspiration for this fragrance was a magnificent trip to Wadi Darbat, in the south of Oman. It is a unique place in the Middle East because the monsoons coming from India end their course there. Instead of being dry and desert-like, as one might expect, this region is lush and botanically very diverse: wide rivers, large trees and a singular treasure unique to this region, the Sidr tree. The Sidr tree has nothing in common with cedar. It is an ancient tree of the Ziziphus family, producing red fruits and incredible flowers. Thanks to these flowers, the local bees produce the richest, most exclusive and characteristic honey you can imagine. It is well known as Yemeni Sidr honey. I was fortunate to spend a few days there with a botanist and an "incense farmer", and I returned from that trip with the inspiration for Sidr Valley. I created a fragrance capturing the different facets of Sidr: the honey and its natural environment."
