Vanilla versus amber
It is a Parisian building designed to host the scent of an orchid with sovereign pods. It is called Bourbon, like its patron in 1722, Princess Louise-Françoise de Bourbon. Bourbon, like the designation created in 1964 to evoke this vanilla specifically cultivated in the Indian Ocean. Palais Bourbon is a place made for unprecedented alliances. Behind its majestic pediment, the persuasive vanilla from Madagascar does not wield its power alone. It blends with amber and oud, which warmly develop their notes. At the rostrum, perfumer Gaël Montero tempers and guides. Three parts occupy the hemicycle, represented by spices, woods, and balsams, and each, in this olfactory assembly, brings its touch and character. Madagascar black pepper, supported by Indian cardamom and Laotian cinnamon, set the tone: lively and ardent. Akigalawood, vetiver, and patchouli vote for a voluptuous intensity. Laos benzoin, Peru balsam, and Brazilian tonka bean win approval with their softness. A fragrance of contrast and collaboration, Palais Bourbon charms by a show of hands: the one holding the bottle and gladly wearing the scent.
